As the weather cools down, we've officially traded in our iced americanos and our chilled rose for all things warm and comforting. Our perfect autumn drink? Homemade chai, using oat and coconut milk for a rich and creamy texture, with spicy warmth coming from the cinnamon, cardamom, and ginger.

Ingredients (Serves 4)

100g coconut milk powder
1 tsp turmeric
600ml oat milk
2 cinnamon sticks
4 cloves
4 cardamom pods
1/2 tsp fresh ginger, finely grated
Pinch white pepper

Method

1. In a medium saucepan on low-medium heat, add the oat milk, and stir in the coconut powder and turmeric.

2. Once completely combined, add in all of the other spices and bring to a simmer

3. Leave uncovered for 5 minutes, then strain using a fine sieve into 4 mugs and serve immediately.

4. If desired, add honey or maple syrup to add sweetness.
